ABOUT

HOUSTON, TX – "She Wanna Fly" is the first single from Houston rapper Ill Ran’s upcoming album, Close Doesn’t Count. Ill Ran is scheduled to release the album this year, on May 10, 2015, with the single listed to debut. Previously released by Island Def Jam in 2010 the track received positive reviews from music enthusiast quoting, “If you like deep thinking and tired of the same old club songs, wanna hear real hip hop, step yo game up and purchase it!” Another listener reviewed the track stating, “Pretty good tune. Solid.” The music video for the single is featured on YouTube. Upon listening to the track, you will be surprised to hear this is not just the same timeworn club song. The Hip Hop rapper evokes a fresh and motivating sound reminisce of the late 90s and early 2000s. His music style can be compared to the likes of Nas, Wale, Memphis Bleek, Common or J. Cole, but he has a sound of his own.

Born and raised in Southwest Houston and a native to Missouri City, Ill Ran has been surrounded by music and submerged in the rap game for a number of years. He has completed underground mixtapes, and can be seen performing at local shows, even sharing his freestyle lyrics at venues. The rapper is known for having a highly distinctive style that separates him from other undistinguished artists in Houston. Watch the new music video from Ill Ran here on YouTube. The track “She Wanna Fly” is available for download on iTunes and Amazon and other major media outlets.
